The name of the business was changed to Walker's Wine and Spirits and Sam Miller was hired to get the business going. Sam came to us with over 15 years experience in the business. His knowledge and experience was invaluable and instrumental in our initial success. A few years later, Phil and Pat's son Philip was hired as manager and learned the trade from Sam and through extensive study. Phil's specialty is in the fine wines area of the business, where he has 18 years experience. Not long after, we hired Mark Voorhees as a manager specializing in premium spirits. Mark also shares administrative duties with Phil and Andrew. Just recently Andrew Zambella joined us as a manager concentrating on premium imported and craft brewed beers. Andrew will also manage our website.
Several years after we began our business we purchased the adjoining building, and opened the first floor of that building which we have devoted exclusively to fine wine. For several years all of the owners have devoted their spare time to the operation of all facets of the business. Eventually we were able to turn these duties over to our managers who have operated successfully for over 15 years |
